Collagen

We use the Zyplast Collagen for depressed and valley-type acne scars, because we think it works better for these. We use Cosmoplast Collagen for wrinkles and lines around the mouth and the edges of lips. For those small vertical wrinkles of the upper and lower lip that lipstick runs into, Cosmoplast is still #1 in our office.

After a topical anesthetic, a tiny needle places the collagen in the mid dermis. We often use Restylane at the same time for longer deeper lines around the mouth or for filling the lips. Don’t forget that CO2 laser to the upper lip for smokers’ lines is still incredible, and is one of two things in cosmetic surgery that lasts for 10 years.
